Make the Most of Your Money and Get the Very Best Picture
by Helping Yourself before You Step in Front of My Camera!
Let’s face it Photoshop is a wonderful tool that can make you appear your very best. But, with that being
said, there are limitations to Photoshop’s ability to repair and improve an image at times. Here’s what you
need to do to help yourself:
Avoid Excessive Sun:
- Don’t sun or stay in the sun for long periods of time 2-3 days prior to your picture, use a good
sunscreen! Remember, sun burns cannot be fixed.
- Don’t stay in the sun with articles on your body that will leave obvious tan lines on exposed skin, such
as sunglasses, shirt and pant lines that will not match what you are wearing for your pictures; this goes
for flip flops, too.
- If you do tan, make sure your make-up base matches your new skin tone.
Mistakes happen, if the above happens to you and you have an obvious burn or major tan lines let’s
reschedule.
Fly Away Hair:
Summer is great, but, not the humidity which can do all sorts of things to your hair. Please make sure to grab
a bag and put your brush or comb, hair spray, gel, detangler, or whatever hair product you might need to
tame your hair. Okay guys, you might not have this stuff just ask your Mom or other female in your life to help
you out here. Photoshop can only go so far when trying to correct hair fly aways. Ladies, do yourself a
favor and bring hair accessories that might look nice with your outfit as well, you never know what you might
need. Have a curling iron you use or other hair tools? Bring it as well.
Bring Your Make-up and Polish:
You may think your make up is fine, but, the camera might see it a bit different. Or, you could end up
smudging something during the photo shoot. Make sure you bring all of the make up you used for touch ups
or repairs. This goes for your polish as well. Close ups will show flaws or un-kept nails, bring it just in case.
Bring a back up outfit just in case there is an emergency:
Things happen, shirts get caught and ripped or something ends up splashing or spilling on you. I won’t
charge you to change your outfit if there is really a justifiable clothing emergency, be prepared!
Cloths Wrinkles:
If it is wrinkled and you know that it really shouldn’t be, iron it before you come. Are you afraid it will wrinkle
funny during your trip to the photo shoot? If so, wear something that can easily slip on and off without doing
a number on your hair. Carry your outfit and change when you arrive into your portrait cloths.
Lint:
If you notice you have lint on your outfit either brush it off or use tape/lint remover to get it off before you
arrive for your portrait, time is money!
Avoid small checks or plaids:
These type of fabric patterns can actually make you appear heavier then you real are or create optical
elusions from the cameras point of view. Try to choose something else if you can.
Nervous about your photo shoot?
Who isn’t nervous about getting their picture taken, some of us are more then others. If you have a MP3
player bring it along. I have portable speakers to plug in so we can listen to the music that make you feel
your best. I love all kinds of music and this helps me to understand who you are so the picture is you and not
a stiff pose.
